TERM 4
Apologies for our blog not been updated since term 2. Mrs P was away all term and didn't leave the password so we couldnt get into the blog. Term 3 was really busy, with Massive, 7 a-side tournie, red square day and while we were working Mrs P was on holiday in Africa watching lions, elephants, hippos, rhinos, cheetahs - the list just goes on and one - she had so much fun.
Mr Andrews was our teacher while she was away.
Now it is term 4 and it is a short term - we have already started with a testing week which was a shock to our system after having 2 weeks holiday. We are working on our CV's as this is our last year at LMS, making scarecrows for our new gardens, keeping ourselves safe programme and also training for the atheletics. This term is only 7 weeks and soon we will be leaving for high school. We will keep you updated - Room 8

TERM 2

Back again - Term 1 has flown and now we are back into Term 2.
Camp was soooo much fun - we had brilliant weather which was just as well as we went for a long tramp to Taupo Point, up hills, over boulders, down cliffs........talk about hard work. We had a boat with us and some of the class were lucky enough to go out and check out the set line for fish - we did have fish and chips for tea but not from the set line.
This term we are making small houses for small people - one half is going to be a 100 years old and the other half is going to be now days. It is lots of fun.
Mrs P will put some photos up soon.
till next time - have a great week

Billy Carts

Keep watching this space for more videos, children's stories and poems. They are a work in progress and the children can't wait to share their fab work.
The Race was AMAZING and highlights will be on the screen as soon as the programme will let me. Yep there has been a bit of a clitch in the video making but I am trying my hardest to solve it. If I can't solve it then I will post some of the still photos on to the blog so you can all see the kids in action at the Race. It was a very cool afternoon and Room 8's trolleys rocked!!!

Billy Carts

Busy Busy Busy! What a lot of learning has been going on with these Billy Carts? The children have had to organise all of the materials needed for the carts to be built. Parents have taken the children to the recycling depot and all materials used have been resourced from all sorts of places. It has been exciting to see what the children have managed to find and a huge thank you must go to the parents. Your help has been invaluable! It has been great to see Mums and Dads helping the children at school build the fabulous carts. It has been a really exciting time and now the carts are nearly finished. Keep watching this blog to see the finished products.

Billy Carts

We are in the process of making Billy Carts. The task we were set was "Who can make the fastest and safest billy cart that can go down School Road Hill?"
We had to do some research at first and find out what a billy cart was. What were they made of? What makes them go fast? After that we had to make a prototype of the billy cart we were going to make. We also had to source the materials for our billy cart and the task here was to see who could get all the materials without spending heaps of money! This was a challenge.
The photos are of some of us planning our billy carts.
So far it has been lots of fun. Keep watching this space for the final go-carts or billy carts as they are called.
