Billy Carts

Keep watching this space for more videos, children's stories and poems. They are a work in progress and the children can't wait to share their fab work.
The Race was AMAZING and highlights will be on the screen as soon as the programme will let me. Yep there has been a bit of a clitch in the video making but I am trying my hardest to solve it. If I can't solve it then I will post some of the still photos on to the blog so you can all see the kids in action at the Race. It was a very cool afternoon and Room 8's trolleys rocked!!!

Billy Carts

Busy Busy Busy! What a lot of learning has been going on with these Billy Carts? The children have had to organise all of the materials needed for the carts to be built. Parents have taken the children to the recycling depot and all materials used have been resourced from all sorts of places. It has been exciting to see what the children have managed to find and a huge thank you must go to the parents. Your help has been invaluable! It has been great to see Mums and Dads helping the children at school build the fabulous carts. It has been a really exciting time and now the carts are nearly finished. Keep watching this blog to see the finished products.

Billy Carts

We are in the process of making Billy Carts. The task we were set was "Who can make the fastest and safest billy cart that can go down School Road Hill?"
We had to do some research at first and find out what a billy cart was. What were they made of? What makes them go fast? After that we had to make a prototype of the billy cart we were going to make. We also had to source the materials for our billy cart and the task here was to see who could get all the materials without spending heaps of money! This was a challenge.
The photos are of some of us planning our billy carts.
So far it has been lots of fun. Keep watching this space for the final go-carts or billy carts as they are called.

CAMP

Here are a few photos on video to give you a taste of what camp was like. Room 8 are unaminous with their opinion that CAMPS ARE FUN! We hope you enjoy watching it!

CAMP TUKURUA 2009

MASSIVE

This year the school decided to participate in the visual art side of MASSIVE. Having been involved in the dance side in previous years we thought it was time for a change. This way, also, being involved in the visual arts meant that all classes could give it a go.
All the classes buddyed up with other classes. Room 8 worked with the little ones from Room 2 and the children from Room 4. It has been GREAT fun and Room 8 children have really enjoyed the challenge of creating art pieces as well as working with the younger kids.
Keep watching for the final creation which will be posted next week.

Tukurua Camp

Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you all but now it is time to catch you all up on the news.

Tukurua camp has been and gone and WOW it was GREAT! Everyone (even the parents) had so much fun. We went on one very long tramp which was not only tiring but lots and lots of fun. We also went and played on the sand dunes and also went on a Safari to Farewell Spit Lighthouse. That was a very early start but it was worth it. We also had the best fish and chips at the Collingwood Tavern. There were lots of memorable moments and the photos we hope will tell you and show you haow much fun we had. Tukurua Beach is beautiful. Everyone had a ball. It was the best camp ever!

Bouncy Castle

April 1st is a fun day at Lower Moutere School. Our hall was turned into a mini market and children had lots of money to spend. The smell of yummy sausages permeated the air, the stalls had gorgous home baking waiting for hungry mouths to consume, it was lots of fun.
This day was organised by the School Councillors for the children to celebrate such a great term.
The above are photos of the terrific team from Room 8 having fun!
